Maximize Your Personal Growth and Leverage: Be Willing to Change

Learning

If you let it, fear of the unknown can have a paralyzing effect.  When guided by fear, rather than take positive actions that alter the situation or at least our response to it, we do nothing.   Even when holding on hurts, and will continue to hurt unless something gives, we do nothing.

Every day of our life brings circumstances that require us to adapt, to change.  The world around us continues to change, whether we like it or not.  Problems, or potential problems, will arise as a result of that change.  Opportunities also arise.  We see evidence of both problems and opportunities  every time we access any kind of media.  The question is, how are you choosing to react?

How you react depends as much on your mindset as anything else.  If you accept change as essential to living, you find a way to reduce the negative impact, and potentially make change work for you.  If you dig in your heels and pretend that change is not happening, it will roll over you.

It is helpful to think of change as a process of growth.  When we accept a new job, when we decide to pursue a lifelong dream, we embrace change.  Adapting to change involves new learning.  The more you know the more leverage you accumulate.
